Boeing-built and SES-operated, the 7 and 8 are part of a constellation of eleven high-throughput communications satellites in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO).Better second-generation satellites for the SES-owned O3b Networks are called O3b mPOWER satellites.This satellite is intended to give mobile network operators, internet service providers, the maritime industry, aviation, government, and defense low-latency broadband connectivity to remote regions. To differentiate these satellites from SES's upcoming O3b mPOWER constellation, it is commonly referred to as O3b MEO.
