A Japanese disposable launch mechanism is called the H3 Launch Vehicle. Launched from Japan's Tanegashima Space Center, the H3 launch vehicles are liquid-propellant rockets with strap-on solid rocket boosters. The H3's design, production, and operation are under the joint authority of JAXA and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). The H3 is the first rocket in history to use an expander bleed cycle in its first stage engine.
