Vulcan VC4S

Vulcan VC4S

Company: United Launch Alliance

Vulcan, the first launch vehicle designed by ULA, builds upon and advances technologies originally created for the USAF's EELV program's Atlas V and Delta IV rockets. The diameter of the first-stage fuel tanks is the same as that of the Delta IV Common Booster Core, but instead of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen propellants, they will hold liquid methane. United Launch Alliance (ULA) created the heavy-lift, two-stage Vulcan VC4S launch vehicle. Its main purpose is to fulfill the vital launch requirements of the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program of the US government, which is intended for use by the US Space Force and US intelligence services for the launching of national security satellites.
