9102 Image

The 9102 from Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is an Attach and Release Mechanism with a proof load rating of 22.2 kN and a release load rating of 17.8 kN. This mechanism has a fuse wire resistance of 1.2-2 Ohms and requires an actuation current of 4 A. It has a low output shock of less than 500 g/s (preload) and a release time of less than 50 ms. The mechanism features a non-explosive hold-down and release function with extremely low-release shock and can be operated with pyrotechnic initiation circuitry. The mechanism has a mass of 130 g and is ideal for applications such as antennas, reflectors, solar arrays, deployable radiators, booms, masts, scientific instruments, satellite and spacecraft deployments, missile payload separation, launch vehicles, and missile stage and fairing separation.
