The 9108 from Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is an Attach and Release Mechanism with a proof load rating of 384 kN and a release load rating of 320 kN. This mechanism has a fuse wire resistance of 0.75-2 Ohms and requires an actuation current of 4 A. It has a low output shock of less than 1000 g (preload) and a release time of 200 ms. The mechanism has a mass of 3.855 kg and measures 117.6 x 111 mm. It features a non-explosive hold-down and release function with low-release shock and can be operated with pyrotechnic initiation circuitry. The mechanism is ideal for applications such as antennas, reflectors, solar arrays, deployable radiators, booms, masts, scientific instruments, satellite and spacecraft deployments, missile payload separation, missile stage and fairing separation, launch vehicles, and missile payload separation.
