The MiDES from Servo Corporation of America is a Mini Dual Earth Sensor that has an accuracy of less than 0.04 deg (3σ). It has been used in various missions such as Astro Spas, U0SAT 12, and QuikToms. This sensor has a mass of 1.5 Kg and a field of view of ±5.5 deg. It requires a supply voltage of up to 28 V and a power consumption of less than 800 mW. This sensor supports the RS-422 interface and has an in-built partial redundancy and a patented sun-moon rejection scheme and automatic radiance compensation. It measures 133.35 x 133.35 x 128.778 mm and is specifically designed to provide horizon position in both pitch and roll for earth-orbiting unmanned LEO satellites.
