SSA01 Image

The EXA SSA01 from EXA is a Wideband S-Band Patch Antenna designed for small satellite and CubeSat missions requiring high data rates, flexible frequency selection, and rapid mission readiness. Supporting up to 195 MHz of bandwidth, this antenna enables greater spectral separation and higher throughput, making it ideal for missions with evolving communication requirements.

The antenna operates across the 2025 to 2120 MHz and 2200 to 2300 MHz frequency ranges without compromising gain performance. This wide operating range allows satellite operators to proceed with spacecraft integration before final frequency approvals are granted, significantly reducing regulatory delays and accelerating launch schedules.

With an ultra-low profile thickness of just 8.4 mm and a wide field of view of 120 degrees, the EXA SSA01 is optimized for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions. It offers customizable connector and cable configurations to support flexible spacecraft integration and is fully compatible with standard deployers and the CubeSat Standard.

The antenna has flight heritage dating back to 2020 and is manufactured using NASA- and ESA-qualified materials and processes. Each unit undergoes functional, performance, thermal bake-out, and vibration testing, with full qualification documentation provided. The EXA SSA01 is a reliable choice for LEO satellite missions requiring a compact, wideband S-band communication antenna with proven spaceflight performance.
