The Latch Valve from Orbital Propulsion Centre is a Spacecraft Valve with a maximum qualified operating pressure of 24.25 bar and a back-relief pressure of 8-14 bar. It is compatible with fluids such as Helium, Nitrogen, water, Hydrazine, MMH, NTO, IPA, and Xenon and has a flow rate and pressure drop of 0.15 bar at 4.5 g/s. The bi-stable valve has a response time of less than 30 ms and opening/closing cycles of more than 500. It features an all-welded titanium design and is equipped with a back-relief function protecting the downstream lines and equipment against over-pressure. The valve requires an operating voltage of 22-32 VDC and has a maximum coil resistance of 37.5 Ohms. It has a tubing interface of ¼ inch and a mass of 545 g. The valve is designed to provide a fully reliable safety barrier in the propellant flow between the tank and thrusters.
