INSAT-1D

NSAT-1D was the fourth satellite in the Indian National Satellite System (INSAT) series was launched by ISRO on 12 June 1990 from Cape Canaveral LC-17 B Complex, Florida, USA. The specification for the INSAT-1D is the same as the INSAT-1B but with expanded battery and propellant capacities. The mission was carried out in Delta-4 launch vehicle and has a mass of 1190 Kg. INSAT-1D was primarily designed to provide telecommunications, broadcasting, meteorological, and search and rescue services to India and neighboring regions. It aimed to enhance communication infrastructure, expand broadcasting reach, improve meteorological forecasting capabilities, and support search and rescue operations.
