INSAT-2B

INSAT-2B was a geostationary communication satellite operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was the second satellite in the INSAT 2 Series that was developed by ISRO for telecommunication and meteorological observation applications. This satellite was launched on 23 July 1993 from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou and was carried out in Ariane-4 launch vehicle. It has a mass of 1906 Kg and mission life of 7 years. INSAT-2B operated successfully in geostationary orbit and provided telecommunications and meteorological services for several years. The satellite contributed to improving communication infrastructure, expanding broadcasting reach, enhancing weather forecasting capabilities, and supporting search and rescue operations.
