INSAT-2C was the third generation geostationary communication satellite from the INSAT 2 Series that was operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This satellite was used to improve communication facilities in remote areas like Northeast and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It was launched on 7th December 1995 from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou. This mission was carried out in Ariane-44L H10-3 launch vehicle and has a mass of 2106 Kg. INSAT-2C was part of the Indian National Satellite System (INSAT) and was primarily intended for telecommunications, broadcasting, meteorology, and search and rescue operations. The satellite aimed to provide enhanced communication services, including television broadcasting, telecommunication links, and weather forecasting capabilities.
