RISAT-2BR1

The RISAT-2BR1 is a radar imaging earth observation satellite that was developed by ISRO for providing services in the field of agriculture, forestry and disaster management. It was launched on 11 December 2019 from SHAR Centre, Sriharikota, India and had a mission life of up to 5 years. This mission was carried out in PSLV-C48 launch vehicle and has a mass of 628 Kg. Similar to other satellites in the RISAT series, the primary objective of RISAT-2BR1 is to provide all-weather, day-and-night Earth observation capabilities using radar imaging technology. The satellite aims to support various applications, including agriculture, forestry, soil moisture estimation, urban planning, disaster management, and national security.
