Bhaskara-I

The Bhaskara-I is the first experimental remote sensing satellite built in India. It was launched in a Soviet Kosmos-3M rocket from Kapustin Yar on July 19, 1977. The satellite has a mass of 444 Kg and had an orbital life of 10 years. It was used to conduct experiments in remote sensing, oceanography, and hydrology.
Bhaskara-I was significant for being one of India's early remote sensing satellites, contributing to the development of the country's capabilities in Earth observation and resource management. It provided valuable data for various applications, including agriculture, forestry, and hydrology.
