DS-SAR - ISRO Satellite

Series: DS Series

DS-SAR is a collaborative Earth observation mission between Singapore and India, featuring a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload designed to provide high-resolution images of the Earth's surface. It was carried out in ISRO's PSLV-C56 launch vehicle from Sriharikota, India on July 30, 2023 at 06:30 hrs IST. The DS-SAR satellite is developed under a partnership between DSTA (representing the Government of Singapore) and ST Engineering. The mission aimed to deliver high-resolution radar imagery for various applications, including disaster management, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and maritime surveillance. The SAR technology allows the satellite to capture images through clouds and during day or night, providing all-weather, all-time observation capabilities.
