Cartosat-II
- ISRO Satellite
Cartosat-II is a series of advanced Earth observation satellites developed and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) that revolves in a Sun-synchronous orbit. The satellite was launched by ISRO on 10 January 2007 from SHAR Centre, Sriharikota, India and has a mission life of up to 5 years. This mission was carried out in PSLV-C7 launch vehicle and has a mass of 650 Kg. It was used for advanced remote sensing applications.
The primary purpose of Cartosat-2 satellites is high-resolution Earth observation, with a focus on cartography, urban planning, infrastructure development, disaster management, and defense applications. These satellites provide stereo imaging capability, allowing for the creation of detailed three-dimensional maps and terrain models.
