INSAT-3C

INSAT-3C was a geostationary communication satellite operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). INSAT-3C was part of the Indian National Satellite System (INSAT) and was primarily intended for telecommunications and broadcasting services. The satellite aimed to provide enhanced communication services, including television broadcasting, telecommunication links, and direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting. It carried Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) transponders, Broadcast Satellite Services (BSS) transponders and Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) transponders for continuing the service of INSAT-2DT and INSAT-2C satellites which were nearing their end to life besides improving and augmenting the INSAT system capacity. This satellite was launched on 24 January 2002 from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou. This mission was carried out in Ariane 5-V147 launch vehicle and has a mass of 2650 Kg.
