Resourcesat-2
- ISRO Satellite
The Resourcesat-2 is a remote sensing satellite that was developed by ISRO to continue the remote sensing data services to global users that was earlier provided by Resourcesat-1 satellite. It was launched on 20 April 2011 from SHAR Centre, Sriharikota, India and had a mission life of up to 5 years. This mission was carried out in PSLV-C16 launch vehicle and has a mass of 1206 Kg. The primary objective of Resourcesat-2 is to provide enhanced remote sensing data continuity for applications in agriculture, forestry, soil mapping, water resources, rural and urban planning, and disaster management. It aims to improve upon the capabilities of its predecessor, Resourcesat-1, by offering better spatial resolution and more detailed data.
