RISAT-2B

The RISAT-2B is a radar imaging earth observation satellite that was launched by ISRO on 22 May 2019 from SHAR Centre, Sriharikota, India. It had a mission life of up to 5 years and was carried out in PSLV-C46 launch vehicle with a mass of 615 Kg. It is part of the RISAT series, which is dedicated to providing all-weather, day-and-night surveillance capabilities using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology.
The primary objective of RISAT-2B is to enhance India's capability for Earth observation, particularly in the domain of all-weather surveillance and imaging. The satellite aims to support various applications, including agriculture, forestry, soil moisture estimation, urban planning, disaster management, and national security.
