Kacific Secures SIG 2025 Best Cooperation Award for Expanding Satellite Internet in Asia-Pacific

Kacific Broadband Satellites Group (Kacific) has won the Best Cooperation Award at the Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) 2025 Awards for its work transforming the Asia-Pacific region by providing affordable, reliable, and high-speed internet to underserved areas.

SIG promotes innovation in satellite communications to enhance efficiency, reduce operational impact, and save time and costs. In support of this aim, the SIG Awards celebrate outstanding and innovative technologies and solutions, as well as exceptional contributions within SATCOM.

Kacific won this award in 2022 with GuarantCo Ltd and received the Innovation of the Year award in 2024 for CommsBox. This recognition by a leading industry body underscores Kacific’s continued leadership and innovation in satellite communications.

Technologies and delivery models

Kacific is committed to helping bridge the digital divide across the Asia-Pacific region, where terrestrial infrastructure is prohibitively expensive or impractical, by expanding access to high-speed broadband. Co-operating with partners in each market, it has lowered broadband costs and improved accessibility by using efficient, proven, high-throughput Ka-band satellite technology from Kacific1 and by deploying innovative connectivity models. These include:

  • Gigstarter: a prepaid model offering flexible, affordable, unlimited internet plans
  • FlexVNO: dedicated wholesale bandwidth enabling customized satellite services for ISPs and telcos
  • CommsBox: a portable, all-in-one solution designed for rapid response in emergency zones
  • PointCast: an auto-pointing satellite system for fast and reliable internet setup without specialist installers
  • PointCast Go: portable, auto-pointing satellite terminal designed for rapid deployment of high-speed internet anywhere—ideal for emergency response, mobile teams, and remote operations

Kacific’s strong collaborations with governments, NGOs, and global initiatives like Microsoft Airband, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Philippines have accelerated digital transformation, disaster resilience, and economic growth across underserved regions. By leveraging innovative satellite technology and localized partnerships, Kacific continues to expand connectivity where it’s needed most.

Kacific is a leader in bridging the digital divide in the Asia-Pacific region,” says CEO Christian Patouraux. “Collaboration has been essential in overcoming the challenges of deploying satellite broadband, driving innovation, and making high-speed, affordable internet more accessible.” He adds, “While our expertise lies in satellite technologies and managed tower services, it’s through strong partnerships that we’re able to expand network infrastructure—ultimately supporting critical initiatives in education, healthcare, and disaster response.”

With over 60 industry accolades, Kacific continues to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and scalable internet services, contributing to economic growth, education, and healthcare while advancing key social goals.

As a result of its many multi-layered partnerships, Kacific has:

  • Over 500,000 end users
  • 600+ ISP partners, distributors, and resellers
  • Connected over 3,379 schools and 378 healthcare facilities
  • Deployed 1,200+ sites rapidly for national digital initiatives in the Philippines
  • Enabled micro-SMEs, online education, and remote work across underserved regions
  • Strengthened disaster response efforts, ensuring uninterrupted emergency communication
  • Improved digital inclusion and economic growth by lowering broadband costs for rural areas

Kacific appreciates SIG’s recognition and commitment to driving satellite communication innovation.
