Infostellar, a leading Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS) provider for orbital satellites, and ASTRO GATE, a pioneer in spaceport planning and operations, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on spaceport development and ground station deployment. Under this MoU, ASTRO GATE will leverage its extensive expertise and global network in spaceport development to support Infostellar’s identification and evaluation of potential ground station sites. The two companies will work together to engage relevant government bodies and local authorities to secure strategic locations.
The ground stations will be designed to support Infostellar’s satellite communications services as well as ASTRO GATE’s rocket launch operations, providing flexible and scalable infrastructure solutions for a growing space economy. This collaboration will enable Infostellar to accelerate the expansion of its ground station network, further optimizing satellite operations and connectivity. For ASTRO GATE, the partnership represents an opportunity to enhance its spaceport offerings through an integrated communications infrastructure. Both companies aim to establish a complementary relationship and strategically advance global space infrastructure initiatives.
Daisuke Ode, CEO of ASTRO GATE, commented: "We are thrilled to sign this MoU with Infostellar. ASTRO GATE has worked with governments and municipalities worldwide to explore and select land suitable for spaceports. By combining our human networks and site selection expertise with Infostellar’s ground station deployment and operational know-how, we aim to promote ground station installations worldwide. This will enhance orbital trajectory flexibility for rockets and increase the frequency and volume of satellite data communications."
Naomi Kurahara, CEO of Infostellar, commented: "We are very pleased to enter into this MoU with ASTRO GATE. Infostellar has long pursued ground infrastructure expansion to improve satellite operations efficiency and flexibility. We expect this partnership to accelerate the identification of new ground station sites and facilitate infrastructure development aligned with spaceport collaboration. Together, we will contribute to the growth of space infrastructure both in Japan and globally."
