Space BD Completes Launch Support for 10 Satellites in 2025 via SpaceX Falcon 9

Space BD, a leading Japanese space business operator, has announced the successful completion of three satellite launch missions in 2025 through SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rideshare program. The missions enabled the deployment of ten small satellites developed by both domestic and international partners, marking a significant achievement in Space BD’s ongoing efforts to provide stable and efficient space transportation services.

The satellites launched serve a variety of purposes, including Earth observation, communications technology testing, and propulsion system demonstrations. Space BD emphasized that this success underscores its strong global network and advanced technical coordination capabilities, which allow it to manage complex multi-party satellite integrations and regulatory compliance with precision.

In recent years, the global space market has seen accelerating demand for rideshare programs that enable cost-efficient and frequent satellite launches. At the same time, the coordination and integration processes required for rideshare launches have become increasingly sophisticated, as launch service providers impose detailed technical and interface requirements, while competition for limited launch slots and compliance with export control regulations continue to intensify.

Under these challenging conditions, Space BD provides end-to-end integration services tailored to each satellite’s specifications. These services include technical coordination with launch providers, preparation of required technical documentation, and compliance with export control regulations for international transportation. By managing the entire integration process on a comprehensive one-stop basis, Space BD allows its customers to focus on mission development and business execution without being burdened by complex technical and regulatory requirements.

Successful Completion of Three Launches in 2025 in Collaboration with ArkEdge Space

Space BD worked closely with ArkEdge Space across three SpaceX missions—Transporter-12, Transporter-14, and Transporter-15—successfully supporting the launch of ArkEdge Space’s satellites in 2025.

ArkEdge Space is a globally recognized leader in the planning, development, and operation of micro-satellites, advancing satellite constellation deployment and cutting-edge technology demonstrations. In support of these missions, Space BD provided launch-related services, ranging from securing launch opportunities to executing complex integration processes. This trusted collaboration enabled stable, high-frequency launches throughout the year and contributed to the acceleration of ArkEdge Space’s business.

Takayoshi Fukuyo, CEO, ArkEdge Space, said, "As we move toward deploying satellite constellations, frequent launch opportunities are essential to accelerate our business. Across the three missions in 2025, Space BD consistently supported the integration of our satellites with its advanced technical coordination capabilities and reliable execution.

Rideshare missions require careful alignment of multiple technical requirements, but Space BD’s steady support allowed us to concentrate our resources on mission development and operations, where we can create the most value.

Furthermore, Space BD’s efforts to expand access to a diverse range of launch vehicles and deployment methods are helping broaden Japan’s commercial space transportation options and expand the overall ecosystem for space utilization. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Space BD as we steadily advance our missions and deliver valuable services."

In addition to its achievements with Falcon 9, Space BD offers a diverse range of transportation options through its partnership with JAXA, including deployment services from the International Space Station (ISS) “Kibo” module, rideshare opportunities on the H3 launch vehicle, and satellite deployment from the next-generation HTV-X cargo spacecraft.

Space BD is also expanding access to a wide array of international commercial launch vehicles, including Space One’s KAIROS (Japan), Gilmour Space Technologies’ Eris (Australia), and INNOSPACE’s HANBIT (South Korea), further strengthening its global space transportation portfolio.

By continuing to provide advanced integration expertise alongside diverse launch options and value-added services, Space BD aims to deliver optimal space access solutions tailored to customer needs, reduce customer risk and operational burden, and contribute to the continued growth of the global space business market.
