Sodern Announces the Opening of Sodern America in the US

Sodern has announced the opening of Sodern America. This new strategic entity strengthens Sodern’s presence in the U.S. market and reflects the company’s ambition to further serve its partners and customers within the U.S. Through this new subsidiary, Sodern will be better positioned to support customers in addressing their operational and technological challenges.

A Strategic Move Closer to Customers in the United States

In response to the growing demand from its U.S. partners for locally based services, Sodern America will enable Sodern to align more closely with customer expectations and to provide enhanced support throughout the lifecycle of their projects. Sodern America is located in Englewood, south of Denver, Colorado, a region recognized as one of the most dynamic hubs of the U.S. space industry and home to many of Sodern’s long-standing customers.

Sodern America will rely on a local team comprising technical experts and a dedicated sales function. The site, covering approximately 1,300 m2 (14,000 square feet), includes:

  • A clean room for Auriga™ star tracker assembly, integration, and testing,
  • Advanced testing facilities for high-performance trackers such as Hydra,
  • A showroom and demonstration area for welcoming customers and partners.

Sodern America is wholly owned by ArianeGroup and works closely with Sodern’s teams in France, leveraging their globally recognized expertise.

“This strategic opening marks a key milestone in our international development and demonstrates our strong commitment to the U.S. market. The new subsidiary strengthens our position and credibility as a leader. Sodern America will have the autonomy required to grow sales in the United States and to support our customers throughout their projects,” said Vincent Dedieu, CEO of Sodern.

The subsidiary is led by Tiphaine Louradour, an American executive with over 20 years of experience in the space sector. Having previously worked with Sodern as a Business Partner, she brings deep knowledge of the U.S. space equipment market.

The United States: A High-Potential Market for Sodern

With more than 40 customers, the U.S. market has already provided Sodern with significant growth opportunities in recent years, particularly for its Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) star trackers and high-performance solutions. Building on this momentum, Sodern intends to strengthen its local presence by producing Auriga™ star trackers in the U.S. and by establishing facilities to test its high-performance systems under conditions representative of the space environment.

“The U.S. market is both dynamic and demanding, making it essential for us to listen continuously to our customers. With Sodern America and the local manufacturing of star trackers in the United States, we will be able to respond faster and with greater flexibility to our customers’ needs,” commented Tiphaine Louradour, CEO of Sodern America.

With more than 2,000 star trackers already in flight and a 100% mission success rate, Sodern has built an outstanding reputation within the global space industry. With this new step, Sodern is well positioned to accelerate innovation and push the boundaries of technology for the benefits of the U.S. space market.
