Reflex Aerospace, a manufacturer of high-performance custom satellites, has been selected to develop and manufacture two satellite platforms for Twinspector, a newly announced Earth observation constellation by German satellite data company LiveEO.
Twinspector is designed to utilize stereo imaging to deliver very high-resolution, three-dimensional Earth observation data at scale, addressing a long-standing gap in the European market for independent monitoring of critical infrastructure. The constellation will support applications across energy, transport, environmental monitoring, and security-relevant use cases. Reflex Aerospace will design and manufacture the satellites that form the technical backbone of the constellation, integrating an optical payload from Kampf Telescope Optics (KTO) that will meet LiveEO’s demanding performance requirements. The satellites will be produced in Germany.
“The abilities to produce and innovate in Germany and Europe are crucial for the technological sovereignty and resilience of European defence and space infrastructure,” said Walter Ballheimer, CEO of Reflex Aerospace. “We are therefore delighted that LiveEO has chosen Reflex Aerospace as a strong partner made in Europe. The satellites we are developing for LiveEO are designed from the ground up for high-performance data processing in orbit and reliable operation at scale, fully complying with the high requirements of this project.”
By using AI-enabled onboard data processing and performing targeted data analysis directly in orbit, the system is designed to reduce latency and enable efficient use of large data volumes, supporting time-critical infrastructure and security applications. With its role in Twinspector, Reflex Aerospace reinforces its position as a key manufacturing partner for commercial and security-relevant space missions in Europe, supporting the development of independent, high-performance satellite infrastructure.
