TRL Space Develops Satellite Programs for Earth Observation and Space Intelligence

TRL Space is advancing a portfolio of satellite programs designed to provide high-performance Earth observation, defence intelligence and geospatial analytics for government and commercial users. The company's satellite portfolio includes TRACE, TROLL NG, TRAP and TRULY, each addressing different mission requirements ranging from very-high-resolution optical imaging and hyperspectral sensing to onboard intelligence and space-based data services. Built on proven microsatellite platforms, these programs are designed to deliver sovereign, responsive and cost-effective Earth observation capabilities.

The flagship TRACE program is a very-high-resolution Earth observation microsatellite that combines 40 cm panchromatic imaging with processed 75 cm multispectral imagery across six mission-optimized visible and near-infrared spectral bands. The satellite incorporates onboard image processing and embedded analytics capable of performing change detection, anomaly recognition and area-of-interest monitoring directly in orbit. Through secure S-band telemetry, X-band high-rate data downlinks and low-latency L-band communications, TRACE can transmit mission-relevant alerts within minutes, enabling rapid tasking and operational decision-making for defence, border security, infrastructure monitoring, maritime surveillance and disaster response applications.

TRL Space also offers TROLL NG, a compact hyperspectral Earth observation platform designed to deliver approximately 5 m ground sampling distance (GSD) across 32 visible and near-infrared (VNIR) spectral bands. Combined with onboard processing capabilities, the satellite is designed to generate clean, high-quality hyperspectral data for environmental monitoring, agriculture, mining, infrastructure assessment and scientific analysis while reducing the volume of data transmitted to ground stations.

The company's TRAP microsatellite is engineered as a next-generation high-resolution Earth observation platform weighing less than 100 kg. Equipped with a custom electro-optical camera, it delivers 90 cm native imagery enhanced to 70 cm super-resolution through onboard processing. The integrated edge AI performs cloud filtering, object detection, image enhancement and real-time lossless compression before downlink, while an integrated cybersecurity unit provides end-to-end encryption for telemetry, commands and software updates. This architecture reduces unnecessary data transfers by up to 70% while enabling near-real-time intelligence for defence, security, agriculture, environmental monitoring and crisis management applications.

Complementing these satellite platforms is TRULY, TRL Space's space data service that provides customers with access to Earth observation intelligence generated from the company's satellite programs. Together, the four programs are designed to provide an integrated ecosystem combining high-resolution optical imaging, hyperspectral sensing, onboard artificial intelligence, secure communications and actionable geospatial information to support mission-critical decision-making across defence, environmental monitoring, infrastructure management and commercial industries.

By integrating advanced imaging payloads, onboard analytics, hyperspectral sensing, secure communications and scalable microsatellite platforms, TRL Space is developing satellite solutions that deliver responsive and sovereign Earth observation capabilities. The company's satellite programs are intended to provide timely, high-quality intelligence while reducing operational costs and enabling independent access to critical geospatial information for customers worldwide.
