Intellian Launches New Satellite TV Antennas to Enhance Live TV Experience on Maritime Vessels

Intellian Technologies, the leading global technology and solutions provider for satellite communications, has announced new t-Series and s-Series antennas to enhance the live television (TV) experience for those onboard maritime vessels.

With millions of people working at sea every day across commercial maritime markets and even more passengers onboard cruise ships, ferries and yachts, the demand for live TV onboard is as strong as ever.

The new t-Series antennas, available from September onwards, will leverage improved technology to elevate the user and customer experience. Featuring an upgrade to Intellian’s trademarked WorldView™ Technology (WLNB), it enables seamless television viewing onboard anywhere in the world as vessels travel between regional services.

The four new models of the t-Series - t85N, t100N, t130N, t150N - range from 85 cm up to 150 cm. They join Intellian’s extensive portfolio of popular satellite TV antennas designed for vessels ranging from 20 ft to over 1,000 ft.  The new s-Series range also in development by Intellian, is designed for the US regional market, with an expected launch later this year. The new s100N and s130N, will be a dual Ka-band for the US and Ku-band for the Mediterranean, TV receive only antenna system, which supports DIRECTV and DishNET reception.

Built on Intellian’s market leading NX platform, the new t-Series has fewer spare parts (40% reduction), lowering the cost of ownership and enhancing ease of installation. With the introduction of an unlimited azimuth rotation system (360-degree span) the satellite TV signal will remain uninterrupted throughout tight manoeuvres from the vessel, ensuring no missed goals or cliff-hanger endings. Further to this, the new t-Series incorporates a new ACU enabling faster downloading of log files and upgrades to system, improving the on-board TV experience.

The t-Series’ updated technology also improves the ease of installation, making quicker for engineers to deliver live TV experiences onboard and troubleshoot problems through Intellian’s bespoke user interface, AptusNTV. The new five cable RF configuration system enables like for like swaps with other products.

Eric Sung, CEO, Intellian comments, “Satellite TV antennas have always been of huge importance to Intellian and that hasn’t changed. Our first ever Intellian product was the i4, a satellite TV antenna we launched back in 2004 which brought live sports, current affairs and broadcasting to mariners all over the world. With many launches since then, this new t-Series marks Intellian’s continued leadership in satellite antenna innovation and commitment to improving user and customer experience. With live TV crucial in keeping seafarers connected to home territories and maintaining morale on working vessels, we’re proud to launch a product to bring more value and improved experience to maritime customers.”
