Axelspace Corporation, a leading developer and operator of microsatellites dedicated to realizing its vision of “Space within Your Reach,” has released the first images captured by GRUS-3, a set of seven next-generation Earth observation microsatellites.
The seven GRUS-3 satellites were launched on July 7, 2026 at 07:12 (UTC). Two of the seven satellites successfully captured images on July 16, nine days after launch. The images are the first test data obtained during the initial operations to verify the satellites’ functions and performance. No geometric or radiometric corrections have been applied. The GRUS-3 satellites are microsatellites equipped with optical sensors.
They will contribute to the expansion of Axelspace’s Earth observation constellation, enabling wide-area, high-frequency Earth observation. The satellites are currently undergoing initial operations, and Axelspace aims to begin commercial operations within 2026.
