Surrey Building World-Leading Small Satellites for 40+ Years

Surrey Satellite Technology (SSTL) pioneers new satellite technologies, products, and services and shares its know-how to enable advancement in space. SSTL, with 40+ years in operation, has 14 satellites currently operated from their spacecraft operations centre, 70+ launches, 35+ long-duration SSTL satellites operating in orbit (years), 12 payloads and 8 satellites in manufacture, and 500+ SSTL satellite years in orbit covering LEO, MEO, GEO and beyond, along with 7 constellations.

The lightest SSTL spacecraft, STRAND-1, weighs 3.5 kg and the heaviest SSTL spacecraft, Eutelsat Quantum weighs 3500 kg. Their End-to-End capability of designing, building, testing, launching and operating is spread over 2 sites in the UK. They are data fusion experts of EO, AIS, SAR, LUNAR COMMS, LEO COMMS, GNSS and real-time video capture.

Some of their products and services are:

SATELLITE PLATFORMS

SSTL-CUBE: Entry-level platform for training missions and suitable for range of payloads including Earth imaging, software defined radio, small LEO telecoms, technology demonstration, radiation monitoring, AIS

SSTL-MICRO: Outstanding payload resources and capability and Suitable for a range of payloads including Earth imaging, software defined radio, science and atmospheric observation, LEO Telecoms, technology demonstration, radiation monitoring, AIS.

SSTL-MINI: A customisable platform built on strong heritage foundations and the structure is bespoke depending on the mission and payload requirements with a wide range of flight-proven options.
