Avanti Expands In-Space Services with Flexible GEO Satellite Operations

Avanti is expanding its in-space services through a portfolio of satellite relocation and in-orbit operational capabilities designed to provide flexible geostationary (GEO) satellite services. Using its own satellite fleet and in-house spacecraft operations team, the company plans and executes turnkey satellite relocation missions that enable operators to reposition spacecraft efficiently while maintaining operational assurance, cost efficiency and rapid deployment. Since 2019, Avanti has completed more than 20 customer satellite relocations, making in-space services a core component of the Flexible GEO capability.

The company's in-space services support satellite operators throughout the operational, legal and regulatory processes required to relocate spacecraft to new orbital positions. These relocations enable satellites to deliver services in new geographic regions, provide temporary capacity during contingency situations, or preserve the regulatory validity of orbital filings while replacement satellites are being manufactured or prepared for launch.

A key application of Avanti's technology is mitigating spacecraft production delays. As satellite manufacturing, launch schedules, and global supply chains become increasingly complex, operators face the risk of losing valuable orbital rights if replacement satellites are delayed. Avanti's Flexible GEO capability provides an operational solution by repositioning existing spacecraft to maintain service continuity and protect spectrum and orbital resources until new satellites become operational. The company combines extensive mission planning with strict adherence to international space operations best practices. Every relocation mission includes coordination with global satellite operators, management of service frequency interference, compliance with Space Situational Awareness (SSA) guidelines, and execution under regulatory oversight. As a UK-registered satellite operator, Avanti works closely with the UK Civil Aviation Authority to ensure all spacecraft relocations meet international regulatory and operational requirements.

Supporting these missions is Avanti's global telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) infrastructure, which integrates the company's own ground systems with an international network of strategic partners. This worldwide command and control capability enables continuous spacecraft communications and seamless satellite relocations across the entire geostationary orbital arc while supporting reliable in-orbit operations and mission execution. By combining in-house spacecraft operations, satellite relocation expertise, global TT&C infrastructure, regulatory coordination, and Flexible GEO capabilities, Avanti delivers comprehensive in-space services that help satellite operators maximize orbital assets, maintain regulatory compliance and rapidly deploy communications capacity where it is needed most.
