The FLEXCORE from Blue Canyon Technologies is a high-performance attitude control system (ACS) designed to provide precision pointing and stabilization for 6U CubeSats operating in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Built for missions with operational lifetimes exceeding five years, it integrates advanced processing capabilities with low-jitter reaction wheel technology to deliver accurate and reliable spacecraft attitude control for demanding payloads. This ACS provides momentum storage of 50 mN·m·s per axis and delivers a maximum control torque of up to 0.025 Nm, enabling agile spacecraft maneuvering and precise attitude stabilization.
The integrated processing core works in conjunction with reaction wheel assemblies to provide continuous attitude determination and high-accuracy control throughout the mission. The FLEXCORE achieves exceptional three-axis pointing accuracy of ±7 arcseconds while maintaining ultra-low jitter performance, making it well suited for Earth observation, scientific imaging and other payloads requiring highly stable spacecraft pointing. The compact micro-package design enables integration into size and weight-constrained CubeSat platforms without compromising performance. The system operates from a 28 V DC power supply and supports an RS-422 communication interface for seamless integration with spacecraft avionics.
It also includes user-friendly software tools that support mission simulation, system integration, configuration and customization, simplifying spacecraft development and mission planning.
