XTC401 Image

The XTC401 from Smiths Interconnect is a space-qualified Ku-band quadrature coupler engineered to deliver precise amplitude and phase performance across the 10.7–11.7 GHz band. It provides a typical insertion loss of 3.8 dB, a minimum directivity of 18 dB, and a return loss of 18 dB, ensuring accurate signal sampling and quadrature generation in RF front ends.

The coupler supports up to 3 W CW power and is available in two configurations: with all four ports accessible, or with an internally terminated coupled port to simplify system architecture. SMA connectors are provided as standard, with TNC options available for higher-power variants. The device can also be integrated into ferrite isolator assemblies or RF filter banks for enhanced performance.

Qualified for the mechanical, thermal, and radiation stresses encountered in spaceflight, the XTC401 ensures long-term phase balance and amplitude stability across mission lifetimes. This coupler is ideal for satellite transponders, frequency converters, phased-array systems, RF calibration networks and space-based communication payloads requiring high-integrity quadrature coupling.
