The CONDOR Mk3 from Mynaric is an satellite laser communication terminal with inter-satellite connectivity in low Earth orbit (LEO) for various applications. It supports full duplex, symmetrical, simultaneous transmit and receive with data rates from 313 Mbps up to 2.5 Gbps with future capability extending to 10 Gbps. The terminal enables inter-satellite connections across distances greater than 6,500 km and uses laser communication technology to ensure low probability of detection and interception. The CONDOR Mk3 features an 80 mm aperture that operates in the 1536–1553 nm wavelength band and delivers an optical transmit power of 4 W at end-of-life. It is fully compliant with the Space Development Agency’s Optical Communications Terminal (OCT) standards for Tranche 0 and Tranche 1 ensuring interoperability across large-scale constellations. The unit requires a DC input of 22–38 V and has a fast link acquisition due to its large field of view. Its modular design allows multiple optical heads of size 372 x 282 x 257 mm to be paired with an optical communications controller of size 158 x 170 x 207 mm for flexible deployment.
