SOLO-EPS X8 Image

The SOLO-EPS X8 from 2NDSpace SRL is a modular CubeSat electrical power system designed to support spacecraft platforms ranging from 1U to 27U. Featuring dual Power Distribution & Control Units (PDCUs) and eight Battery Management Systems (BMS), it provides a scalable architecture for advanced nanosatellite missions.

This EPS delivers up to 24 controllable power outputs (3 per channel) with configurable voltage levels from 3.3–16.8 V. It supports peak channel currents up to 3.3 A across 6/10 channels and offers a total peak power capability of 160 W. The integrated 100 Wh energy storage and six independent MPPT solar inputs ensure optimal power harvesting and regulation throughout mission operations.

Equipped with comprehensive protection features against over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current events, the SOLO-EPS X8 enhances spacecraft safety and power stability. It includes multiple communication interfaces—RS-485, UART, CAN and I2C—for seamless integration with onboard avionics.

Designed for space-grade reliability, the unit withstands vibration, thermal cycling, and radiation environments common to LEO and deep-space missions. Measuring 97 × 92 × 66 mm and weighing 966 g, it offers a compact yet highly capable power solution. With the modular and robust design, the SOLO-EPS X8 is ideal for CubeSat missions requiring flexible power distribution, high-efficiency energy management and dependable performance in harsh space environments.
