The Electron from Rocket Lab is a Satellite Launch Vehicle Platform designed specifically to place small satellites of up to 300 kg into a wide range of low earth orbits (LEO). It has a vehicle mass of 13,000 kg and functions in a 2+ kick stage. This launch vehicle platform uses carbon fiber composite material and has a Monocoque structure. It utilizes 1x Rutherford Vacuum propulsion engine in Stage 2 and 9x Rutherford Sea Level Engines in Stage 1. This launch vehicle has a thrust of 5800 LBF in Stage 2 and 5600 LBF in Stage 1 which incorporates pneumatic unlocking and springs fairing separation system. It uses liquid oxygen and kerosene as propellants and has proven flight experience with NASA, DARPA and US Air Force.
